Bradford engine in a pre war
How much work is it to fit a Bradford engine into a prewar 7hp? I’m wondering if it’s worth having one sitting to one side as a temporary unit if I ever have any issues with the current engine. Interested in others experiences!

I think the main problem would be the Bradford engine's different induction tube and a downdraught carburettor over, rather than in front of, the engine. The long two has a lowered bonnet line, so not sure you'd get the bonnet shut! The manifolds have different stud patten, so it's not a simple swap.

The CA has the chain driven dynamo and side draught carburettor - maybe that is an option?

Thanks folks!
I was considering whether to have something sitting on stand by - think I probably just need to bite the bullet some time next year and rebuild my engine. That said, it performs very well currently. I’m planning on a fairly long and arduous trip the following Feb so this is me debating whether to make sure we make it!
