Looks to be the same AVO number TB 987. No AVO distributor in the US and a quick search on the AVO site does not turn up that number. Would you please measure the distance between the mounting eyes (bolt centers) as mounted in your car? That let's us work using the length of the shock at ride height.

Scott - I did the same search and found nothing - once you are aware of what will fit can you please advise - I have a complete Jupiter restoration going through the workshop and need new front shocks for it (need new rears too if you have any info on them) - Many thanks Chris

On the SA that has been converted to late and the SC . the normal loaded between eye centres is 317 mm and unloaded is 350 mm.
The rear is 380 and 460mm.
Note at this position with the rubber droop stop in place there is about 10mm of clearance between lower arm and top of rubber triangle.
As I said both Spax and Avo shocks were supplied by Bill.
I have found the Avo box they came in and it is marked 987.
The box now contains the old SA shocks which have closed 12 inch 315mm open 16inch 405mm in them the 482 13950 used for 20 years on all the rallies

If I read the post correctly, the 12" "old" SA shocks are for the rubber mounts. The original SA shocks measure out at about 8" (203mm) to 11.5" (292mm).

Obviously, I have been in your car many time. Puzzled by losing 4" of travel in bump to a 60mm (2.4") vertical gain. I will do some more homework in the evenings to figure out what I am missing. Currently, if I mount a 987 shock on Belk's car, it would have about 3/4" (20mm) bump travel.

the upper mounting point on the late is on the chassis not the upper arm as on early so the closed shock length is longer . The only sure way to prove is to relax spring fully and load the car. The amount of bump is not governed by the rubber ring like it is on the early.
The shocks are adjustable so increasing the resistance would also stop the suspension getting to full bump. Note I have been fully airborne in the Jup a few times and sorting out the noises when you land is not easy.

Front and rear from 1952 SC that was sold to Portugal, then to a US serviceman from Texas (sat for 50 years) to N. Cal not far from Roger.
Interesting as this throws into doubt the selection of new shocks fitted to our cars.
It is possible the compressed length is not ever required . I will have a look and see what I can find in the way of old SC shocks buried in the cellar.
As I said on JT the way to check is to fit with springs fully relaxed and the car loaded. If possible pulling the chassis to the ground with a winch.
