Registering, Picture Upload and Posting
Having just joined the club, I wanted to be able to view the Club Members' Library and to see the Jowett Car Club Members' Map so that I could see which members lived close by my home.
The Club Members' Library is accessed via Jowett Talk so I realised I had to register on the website so that it knew who I was and could authenticate who I said I was.
When you register you say to which club you belong and tick the box to say you have read the terms and conditions. You also ask to use the Jowett Internet Services which allows access to the Jowett Car Club Members' Map. When the JowettTalk administrator approves your request to join JowettTalk as a club member he will set the system up so you can see the Club Member's Library. It may be a while before the Jowett Internet Services have all your details available.
When I joined the club I told them my email address. I use this email address when I register on JowettTalk. It checks that I can read that email address by sending me an account activation email.
If you had already registered on JowettTalk before joining the club then you need to inform Forumadmin of your membership so he can set you up.
This is how I registered on Jowett Talk.
I first read the TERMS and CONDITIONS by clicking the link on the home page.

I then clicked the LOGIN button in the banner at the top.

Since I had not registered I clicked the REGISTER button. I would come back here later when my account was activated.

I agreed the T&Cs

I then chose my First Name and Family Name as my USERNAME
I used the email address that I look at regularly as I know other members may send me private messages via the system.
I thought of an easy to remember pass phrase that met the compexity criteria which I know are necessary as the password is one of the protections on my personal data.
I entered a short introduction to myself as this may stimulate some conversation and it also helps the adminstrators to decide whether to activate my account.
I entered my Given name and Family name so as to create my personal album in the Gallery.

The phone number and postcode are kept private and are only used by the webmaster in case of issues.
Since I want to view the Members' map and renew on-line next year I will ask for Jowett Internet Services access.
I also tick the box to say I have just joined the club.
All done so I click SUBMIT

The above is displayed so I wait for the email which comes in a few minutes.

I click the activation link.

which then gives me this message.

I received this email from the system indicating my email address has been verified. So I wait for Forumadmin to wake up.

He has!
I read this note carefully as it tells me how to change my password.

I enter my credentials and tick the 'Auto logon box' This used cookies that are stored on my computer.

I see this page come up for a few seconds and refrain from clicking on it and wait for the next page.
I then click on the BOARD INDEX link to take me to JowettTalk

I scroll down to and click on the MYJOWETT EXPERIENCES forum

I click NEW TOPIC
I enter my subject.
I could add an attachment. I just drag and drop onto the message window from File Explorer. and click place in line after moving the cursor to where I want the image to be in the message box. I add some text and click SUBMIT. My first post! and there it is with a thumbnail of my picture. I click on that to get a higher resolution view.
So what do I do next. Perhaps add an album with all my Jowett pictures?

Finding your contributions.
Scott contacted me yesterday saying he could not find something after the Gallery transformation.
I gave him three ways to find it. Search using the search box in the top right corner, possibly using the advanced search, using his name or other search string.
This will generate a list of topic snippets and, when you click on one, will highlight the found string.
Or if it is something you have posted you can go the 'Members' list in the Quick Links (top left)and find your details. Then click on the link to see all your posts. You will get an URL like this with your id .
or if you are trying to find something that you loaded into the Gallery, then use a search string that is your user name.
