Jupiters on YouTube

Post by Leo Bolter »

Hello All.

Now, I will apologise in advance to you all if this is old news . . .

There's some video clips on "YouTube"!

Many of you will have seen these before no doubt, but as they are new to me, it may be that they could be of interest to others too.

The first is titled: "Jowett Jupiter at Castle Combe"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zsIC1TKPxc

The second clip: "Jupitor at prescott"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vC-J8uri_No&NR=1

. . .and the last one that I have found is: "Jowett Jupiter 60Mph"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pIiqO3g ... ed&search=

I just LOVE the sound of the gear changes in the last clip . . . . it reminds me, I was going to put a "racing" muffler (straight through perforated tube surrounded by fibreglass!) on my Jupiter, and make a quality recording of starting the car, doing some acceleration runs up and down through the gears and switching off. That recording should be good to use during static displays, shows and rallys etc. . . . . must do it sometime soon!

I have visions of setting up some decent speakers under the car and recording the DVD with about 20 minutes of silence.

My idea is that as new members of the viewing public circulate at the shows, the car would appear to start and move off etc. every 20 minutes . . . . My only worry is that someone may have their head under the bonnet at the time the record starts ! . . . the bonnet may end up with an "astrodome"!

Best regards, Leo.

PS. If the owner/s of the cars featured do not want them displayed on this post, please let me know and I'll remove then ASAP. Leo

Hi all.

I just found, while randomly going through some of the presented video clips after doing a "car" seach on YouTube . . . . to my great surprise, there appeared an image of a very familiar Jupiter . . . . !

Take a look at the 8th picture on the following clip!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x49bKJtn1V8

I have no idea of when the photo was taken or exactly where (except all images in the clip appear to have been taken in NZ).

Leo.

These are very old. I will update and upload to gallery one day.
You also reminded me to upload the clip of NKD on a superb hill climb in Andora. I will try to find time to post!
