This is a quick apology to the two Jupiter owners whose cars I overtook in my 1934 7hp short saloon on the way back to the Daresbury Park hotel from the Walton Hall rally site. I don't think it will ever happen again, and NO, they weren't parked-up by the side of the road.
They took it with a good grace as they followed me into the hotel car park.
Tony.

In defence of pre-war Jowett 7s, they are no slower than many other light cars of the 'thirties, indeed in my experience, when they too are in good tune, they keep up better speeds than most! I have been on many classic runs when owners of much newer cars insist on driving at slow speeds it would seem just because their cars are 40 or 50 years old, much to my frustration! More notable are 'Sunday drivers' in their moderns who drive at slower speeds than I do in my Seven - these people are more of a hazard because they are more plentiful, certainly down this way!
