A crack has been detected in the left hand (ie as you look under the bonnet) cylinder head on my RHD 1953 Jupiter mk 1 (S3 engine). So, has anyone got a spare, please? Or what experiences can anyone share regarding repairs?
Thanks

oh dear
valve seats have come adrift again
[in fact this is the third time, there was an unreported occurrence 1500 miles ago ...]
my mechanic is now advising a replacement cylinder head rather than repair. I haven't seen the offending items, so can't comment.
So, as per previously (and before I contact the spares guys next Monday evening) ... does anybody out there have a 'clean' cylinder head going spare .. or come to that, a rebuilt engine?
Thanks for looking! [Contact number hidden in my profile, if anyone has any news]

My valve seats were further fixed with some allen screws so did not rely on interference fit.
The problem these days is finding a head that has nothing wrong with it. I suspect that cracks, blockages, thinness, warping, too much grinding on face or combustion chambers, loose core plugs, valve guide wear, ... have taken their toll.
If there was nothing else wrong it should be easier to fit a replacement seat I would think. Better the devil you know.
