Confusion

Ive just been going through some of my dads jowett related paperwork and it seems I always end up in finding something that confuses me as to why or how it got there. Now I know probaly none of you know the why it got there but maybe you could help with the how. Ive found 2 registration books of prewar jowett one 1930 jowett castrol, consol? something beginning with C, the regitration is KW 8698(Sheffield). Also a 1934 BKN 165(Portsmouth) a saloon. It would be nice to know where they are now if still in one piece? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. I'm also confused on my car as according to description it was owned by my great grandfather in 1935 But according to the registration booklet it was first registerd in 1934, again but the first owner was my great grandfather in 1936 so the question is what happened in those two years?, Also the registration number is 0Y8670 which is either a Somerset(Y) registrgistration or (0Y) London NW registration. As much as I love playing detective at this I'm not sure what direction to go.

Kestrel? The registration year ws August to August, so may explain the aconfusion on years.

Castrol = Kestrel the model of Jowett in 1934. So the guy could not spell!

??Curlew - which was as Kieth has intimated introduced at the 1934 motor show for the 1935 model year so could have been registered in 1934 or 35
