Sleep Walking And Jowetts

Why not tell us about your car (start with a picture) and say what you have done with it; either restoring or using it over the years. Restoration of particular parts is of special interest. Club members can have their space on in their Personal Album to do this.

Sleep Walking And Jowetts

Post by AlanBartlett »

Right this is probaly me going mad, but over the past couple of months I've been sleep walking/ dreaming about my jowett(obessed I know) but well I was dreaming about it and got up out of bed leant over to touch it I can remember trying to grab it, and leaning over out of my bed and the ery feeling of it not being there, suddenly jumped out of bed in the middle of the night and ran to switch the light on, switched it on then suddenly realised I was in my bedroom and snapped out of it, though semi conciouse through the whole thing for the past couple of times its been a weird experience, I remember one of the other times I was looking for the battery charger in the garage, yet still in my room and did exactly like i have just descirbed, Anyone else become obsessed with their jowetts enough to dream about them?

sleep and obsessions

Post by Alastair Gregg »

Hello Alan

No this is how every well adjusted mature fine upstanding Jowetteer lives. Does this mean that prior to this occasion you were obsessing about other matters.

A word of advice, now you are normal don't try to change a thing

Welcome to dedication and and obsession....
As each issue has been sirted out, they disappear, then once on the road you get the ones of whizzing down long hills...they are short, and the ones going up long hills....they are longer lol

It does seem to be a common problem - I apparently was talking in my sleep the other night and came out with "the wiring loom is in, and the engine is running" - alas, just a dream, but hopefully in the next few weeks :)

I do seem to have a lot more dreams about fixing the car, either where things go wrong, or where we've got everything done and it's working. So far not actually managed to remember how the thing looks when it's done in my dreams.

Definitely something to watch out for. Might be an early symptom of a more serious condition, which often leaves sufferers in garages until late at night with grazed knuckles and spending hours on the internet researching cars we don't even own...

I think there's going to be drooling based on the quality of the dash paintjob, if wiping that off equals polishing then I guess you'd better set up a cordon round the thing while I'm away :)

No more dreams/nightmares to report since last update, seems I've got it out of my system, possibly as a result of spending so much time working on the car that I don't have time to think about it when asleep...

Dreaming

Post by Chris Spencer »

What next ! The dreaming thing is even effecting the wife now ! - She recalled last nights dream as being in front of the judge after I had written a letter to him complaining that she had crashed the car that I had just spent years rebuilding. My conclusion is do not offer to loan Sharon use of your car if you want it returned unmarked.

I wonder what the jury would have decided?

Alan - My dear wife tends to get her own way the majority of the time I sure she would have convinced the judge it was not her fault !
