Having been working away for a week, I returned to find that my son (bless him) had rebuilt the ignition system on my Long Four and started the car - after 40 years ownership and about 17 years since we last started it.
Here is the proof:-

Still no exhaust pipe of course! (Never mind the wooden floorboards!).

When the cat's away . . .

I wouldn't swap my 3 sons for anything ??? except perhaps,no it wouldn't be fair to mention it.I realy would like that 54 last gasp Javelin with the series 3 front end and the dash that looks like an Austin, from Tasmania.
And the Wylie Javelin and that Bradford with the camping body and ....
Seroiusly though,if it wasn't for my sons it wouldn't be worth having the 3 Jowetts,2 quattro's etc.
They just might let me drive their toys one day,66 Cortina racer,64 Falcon ex Targa Tassie car with hot 289 and 4 wheel disk brakes.
I live in hope of becoming a problem to my boys, and grand son.
Cranky Wife,No Cupholders.
Jupiter,Javelin, Bradford.
Audi quattro 1985 ,MK 2 Cortina,Fairthorpe Electron Minor 1300
I NEVER MET A HORSEPOWER I DIDN'T LIKE!

I think my son has caught the 'bug'. Having been brought up (and having 'brought up' himself!) in the back of our Javelin, he has completed a college course as a mechanical engineer and after various 'tries' now works in the motor industry and has progressed, via a Mk 1 Escort, to his second Capri.
It is very unusual in that it is one of only three 2.3 litre left-hand drive V6's that were imported and the only one still listed by DVLC.
It is currently being 'worked over' to improve handling and performance, but should be back on the road soon.
Shame it's not a Jowett, but the thought was there!
Is it possible to improve the handling of a Capri? Maybe this is why his is the only one left!!
He is putting a Mustang rear axle in with a limited slip diff and five bar rear suspension with coilover shock absorbers. I think he really wants it just to go fast in a straight line (KIDS
