I went to this auction. Thanks to the auction house's standard 25% buyer's commission being imposed, the price escalated quite quickly. The car was sold to an internet bidder for £7000 including premium.

The Javelin sold at auction in Darlington has now surfaced again in an Ebay classified advertisement from a dealer in the Kettering area. Looks like it has had a jolly good polish at least. The asking price is now £11,500.
