Javelin Racing.
It’s a while since we’ve spoken hope you are well. I’m not sure if you or any of the JOC members are providing the Taxi’s for the Revival again this year but I thought I’d let you know that the Javelin has been invited to race in the Jack Sears Trophy race for 50’s touring cars this year. It’s a 25 minute race on the Saturday later in the afternoon. I’m sure it will be a little outclassed amongst the faster brethren of A35s Jags and the like but we’ll give it a good go.

My Jupiter is also confirmed for the Fordwater trophy on Saturday.
Strangely, I can't see a mention of the Jack Sears race here:

There are 13 Jowetts booked in to act as taxis at this year's event plus we have a Javelin and a Jupiter racing with another Jupiter on the reserve list.
It is going to be a good one!

Congratulations to Julian Crossley in his Javelin for some spirited driving in the Jack Sears Trophy, including some heart-stopping pirouettes.

Re: Goodwood Revival 2018 September 7th - 9th
I took my Long Four to the Revival today, parked in the pre-1960 area after convincing the marshal that my 1930 was indeed pre-1960!
Great to see the Javelin and the Jupiter in their paddocks but a quick check of the car parks did not reveal any more of the ilk. Maybe some turned up after about 09.30?
A few VERY rare cars in the car park including an enormous Simplex and a nicely patinated HE.
As ever, a great day out but way too expensive for regular attendance.

A GRRC member was so enthralled by the ride I gave him in Josephine last year that he put a video he had taken on a memory stick and brought it along this year. He managed to find me even though I was in Benjamin, Amy's Javelin.

Patience my friend it is 860MB!
Some browsers (Chrome for instance will give a progress indication) will download rather than bring up a video window and then you have to go to the folder and open the file.
I do not think it is the web server throttling the download, but it may be. Also the network between LA and the server may be buffering it.
Let me know how long it takes. I am particularly interested if the download stops as this may indicate the download has timed out. I download in under 3 minutes so if it is more than 10 minutes we will have to look at fixing it.
There are now many (about a hundred) videos in the library so I may have to implement a queuing system for downloads if they become too popular. It is possible that about 20 people may be downloading at the same time when the various time zones wake up.
