Wiper motor

Post by tonygunton »

I am keen to upgrade my early Lucas single speed wiper motor to a two speed. The motor appears to be a 75055 and I understand that the same setup was used on XK120. The drive is a smaller diameter than later CD models and the wiper arms clamp to the spindles that exit the body through rubber bushes, no ferrule is possible. The XK120 had a two speed version of this wiper and I understand that some Morris Minor motors can be swapped. Can anybody help me identify the correct motor or does anyone have one to dispose of.

If you look on the Early Javelin rebuild saga towards the end about August 2017 I think you will see I rebuilt a wiper motor. Having driven my Jup and Jav in some horrendous conditions a better wiper system would certainly help. There probably are many wipers that will fit as you can just use the motor armature from another, or the armature and body and just use the gearbox, depends what needs replacing.

I would think some electronics would also do what you want regarding speed and wash/wipe, but if there are some others that auto park and have two speeds then please let us know if you find one.
