Jowett Internet Services now has a username and password free registration if you are a member of a Jowett Club.
You just need to specify your email address that you have provided the club and respond to an email the system sends you.
Jowett Internet Services allow you to view membership and vehicle details. Jowett Internet Services can also be used by non-members who wish to join the club or book to attend an event.
The system has a 10 minute timeout for validating your email address and a 30 minute maximum time before your session closes and you have to re-validate your email.
These and other security controls help protect the data.
To try them out please go to the Jowett.net home page and click the services button.

Any comments, especially if you find a mistake (however small), would be useful feedback.

I hope that many will use this to renew their membership and help get the vehicle registers up to date. All changes are quickly communicated to relevant officers.

I hope this partly satisfies those who cannot remember their password or have forgotten their username. However, you still have to remember your email address!

I may find some time to make the renewal process even slicker, so any comments on that front would be welcome.

Good to see so many people testing this out.
The system is new and so does not have all the bells and whistles implemented yet.
It was put in place primarily to allow JCC Ltd members easier access to their membership details so they could renew. That capability should now work much more smoothly although I may make a few more improvements.

The US , Australian, New Zealand and JOAC club members who have tried will not have had a success as I have not yet implemented that capability in the new method, mainly because they are not using the system for renewal.

I will shortly add the capability so that the Australian and New Zealand members can view their members' maps like they could via the JowettTalk login.

Please note this new method does NOT give you access to JowettTalk and JowettGallery. Essentially we have regressed back to requiring separate logins. But the huge effort made to integrate JowettTalk and JowettGallery is still in place so you only need one login for both of those.

As part of the changes this month I have included the ability to update vehicle register information as JCC Ltd are making a big effort to understand what we have in the way of cars out there.

When members renew they can search to find out what information is known about their car and then correct and add to the record. That information is then sent to the relevant registrar. Members can also add a record so that new information will be available on cars known to be scrapped or perhaps even seen on the road or in a field. We may get a better picture of the vehicle landscape if we all contribute. If you take a picture of the car you can link that into the record by using the JowettGallery GetURL feature.

The forum link at the top of the page still points to Jowett.org.

Emailed you Nick as I cannot see the error you found.
Some additions this morning with the NZ and AUS members now able to see their members' maps.
I also tidied up the email registration page so that the confirmation of registration clears out the screen. This makes it clearer and adds some security as your details are not left on screen.
UK members receiving the electronic Jowetteer will have a note from Jack with a link to renew their membership.
You can get there in many ways , which is perhaps confusing.
Generally starting at Jowett.net and clicking the SERVICES button gives you a list of available services. If you click on one that requires an active session you are given a link which takes you to the email registration form. Alternatively you go via the REGISTER service but this gives you a choice of registering by email or registering with JowettTalk. At the moment the Username/Password login of JT no longer allows access to Member Services except for the member only parts of JT and JG, notably the Technical Library , Magazines and club discussion forum.
No doubt you will let me know if you find the registration and session timeouts onerous.
Please keep the feedback coming.

Password free on-line renewal

Thank you to those of you that have used the system to inform us of changes.

I have added a few more messages and tidied up the renewal system a bit. It still might not be as smooth as some of you would like so please send in any comment.

Jack sent a link which takes you right to the session starting form which asks for your email address.
You carefully enter your email address. Then wait a minute or two for the email to arrive.
You click the link in it which activates the 30 minute session and you choose what to do either by hitting the RENEW button or by clicking the CHECKDETAILS button from the MORE drop down list of 'pills'.

If you do not have any changes to make to your membership record then go straight to RENEW.

If you do need to change any of the details such as not wanting to receive a printed copy of the magazine or to add your mobile number, then enter them and then SUBMIT those changes . This sends an email to the membership sec detailing each change. The system also sends you an email of the changes and puts up a screen of the new membership record. You can then go to renew or enter your vehicle details.

The renewal page tells you what it thinks your subscription should be, so if that is correct just enter the amount and select the payment method.
When you submit the form it will send an email to the membership sec and treasurer alerting them of impending payment. If you are an overseas member and have elected to use PayPal a PayPal payment page is displayed.

You can always come back to do your vehicle detail update later so that the registrars are informed.

Please try the system out. You can of course still use the form and email that or you can print it and post it with a cheque.

However you do it please renew promptly.
