Interesting short feature on the Javelin in the November 2017 edition of Classic and Sportscar magazine. It draws on well known car KAM 732 for illustration and also features a review of MBX 45, currenly listed for sale. For club members there is perhaps nothing new to be gleaned although as one who has been around, read all the books etc., there was one reference that made me raise my eyebrows. Under the heading "Timeline" there is an assertion that in December 1952 an "S" model was made, numbering only 9 cars. While I know that some Javelins were modified for test or prototype reasons, I can find no reference to an "S" production model in any of the books. Was this perhaps a stretching of the rules for cars which were to be used in competions? If there is something written perhaps someone can guide me to it.

Could they be confusing Jupiters with Javelins and referring to the SC series, which I think (I am not a Jupiter man) came out then?
The number 9 could be significant in that of the ten 'CD' bodies delivered by Briggs, 9 were actually built up into various forms - van, car, etc.
If nothing else, the article has created some interest, even if it is only 'local'.

They might even be confusing it with the Jaguar S series! That said we do have the Norman Snell car that was modified (presumably in the factory) but it was a one off.
