Oil seals

Post by Keith Clements »

I have decided to swap the rear axle half shafts after 47 years over which period I have had many issues with squeaks which had been traced many years ago to worn tapers. So having imported a Jup axle from the USA I took the plunge and pulled the shafts after making a puller.
Finding a replacement oil seal is proving a challenge. I have an enquiry out with Simply Bearings who are attempting to import from Chicago Rawhide the desired replacement for Payen NA325. So if you want me to get some for you please contact me.

I found this SKF course great in choosing, removing and installing oil seals.

Don't forget about the inner seal 54289! I had some made up a few years back as they are NLA.
