Any body know what thermostats will fit my 53 Javelin? Is it a dedicated part?

don't know the thermostat number but think its an AC thermostat. It is Javelin specific as it has a bleed hole because the javelin does not have a bypass which most other engines do have.

A bypass system was designed by Horace Grimley and would have appeared on 1954 models. Amongst other advantages it dramatically shortened the time/distance it took the heater to warm up. I concocted this system on one of my Javelins and it worked very well and was not difficult to rig up.

Look on ebay for Jowett javelin technical notes by JCC of Australia for full info and diagrams of this modification. (might also be on here somewhere!
