upcoming UK changes?
Having got ourselves onto a mailing list from heritage insurance (we must have done a quote at some time), we received an email yesterday, highlighting latest news. following links, 2 articles came up, which warrant comment. 1) Zero tolerance on speed - fine if every single vehicle has accurate speedo - we know from using sat nav occasionally that vehicle speedo differs from sat nav speedo. 2) Someone somewhere has it in for the classic car movement - again!! To read follow http://www.heritagecarinsurance.co.uk/ & see for yourselves.

Re: upcoming UK changes?
My speedo is only in km/h. I have had different sized wheels fitted at times and anyway mist modern tyres have a different rolling radius than the original.
TIMING over a measured mile is how I calibrated for rallies and is easy to do on a quite stretch of road with marker posts. A mile in 2 minutes gives you 30 or probably better on a motorway is a mile in 1 minute is 60mph. That acts as a check on the sat nav. Just put a tippex mark on the speedo face if you are that worried.

Keith, - I'm not that worried, even tho' Both Martin & I have clean licences, I can't see in reality how it's going to work! I don't think they've thought either idea through long term (like most government departments).
