Just bring everyone up to date with the classic car media whom appear to have 'Fallen in Love' with our Jupiters - In the 22nd April 2015 edition of Classic Car Weekly is a auction report from the classic car sale at Kings Lynn Car Auctions which features the British Racing Green Jupiter 'BHG 633' with a good write up and a large picture on page 18 - although the sold price quoted is incorrect at £27,300 it actually sold for £25,200 including premium (The successful purchasers 'Margarita & Peter Collins' have since joined JCC) - forward one week to the next edition of CCW - Wednesday 29th April 2015 and the Jupiter features again with a large picture of the former Phil Green car 'NAT 146' on page 4 that heads a full page feature on how former car manufactures brand names are being purchased for small amounts of money by overseas companies intending to use the name on new production vehicles that will add nothing but confusion to the market. On page 22 of the same edition is a picture of the metallic green Jupiter 'DS 3131' with a small auction report that was sold by Charterhouse Auctions for £24,200 at their recent Shepton Mallet sale - interestingly both auction reports mention the Jupiters as the standout vehicle of the sales.

I have been invited to make a short presentation to a local group of about 30 (mostly) vintage tractor enthusiasts here in Wales next week.

I know Jowetts only made one so the presentation shouldn't take long, but I am hoping that some useful yarns, leads or 'barn finds' might emerge from the meeting.

I will report progress after the event.

(PS:- Tony I have the picture (at home) but I am here until about the 16th).

I made my presentation last night (Tuesday) to about 35 members of the Defynog Vintage Society. These are mostly tractor enthusiasts but one member has a bus, one has FOUR Bean tractors (I didn't know that Bean made tractors as well as cars. I have since made enquiries and I think the owner may have confused bean harvesters with the make of the machine. I have only found Bean lorries - and not many of them!) and another has FOUR Bristol Tractors, but unfortunately they are all fitted with the Austin Ten engine.

The presentation was well received, several members having been owners of Bradfords and one recalling a relative being 'booked' for speeding in a Javelin.

The event also resulted in an invitation to make the presentation again this Thursday, this time to a group in the curiously named town of Three Cocks somewhere near Hereford. I am told this group are nominally steam enthusiasts but that many of them in fact have vintage / classic cars.

We shall see . . .

The presentation at Three Cocks was apparently well received by about 30 members of the Three Cocks Vintage Society but sadly did not lead to any Jowett related 'finds'. Not too surprising as the members there are mainly steam enthusiasts and I have only heard of one steam Jowett - the well-known Bradford conversion.

I also ran a short quiz about car makes past and present which filled in about an hour and raised a few groans!

Finally I was asked if I would be prepared to make yet another presentation (date and time unspecified!) to a local group in the Knighton area.

Of course I would. I'll let you know if/when it materialises.
