Warranty Issue

Post by dougie »

Some of you might remember the Rath Bradford from The Australian Armidale Rally.Well there is a sad tale to tell. When we bought the Braddy it had been overhauled and although we changed the oil and filter and checked the brakes, steering, fixed the electricals and got the thing running. In the panic of getting all 3 of our cars to Armidale, we some how didn't look at the diff. :?
You guessed it,there was no oil in the diff :( .Incredibly the poor thing went to a number of ralleys and covered quite long distances until just before Christmas, when the inevitable happened.I was very cranky with myself,as you can imagine. :x
I had a fit of peke, but I'm past my peak now and the thing is fixed.
We were lucky enough to be given a trailer with a Bradford rear axle and suspension, complete with working brakes. The diff centre was good and the trailer itself is so good that the Braddy will now have a matching trailer to tow.
So something good came out of the disaster, after all. :D

G'DDAY From The Sunny South,

I think Dougie is riding shotgun on the truck coming down to collect the club's spares stok for transfer to Brisbane.

I seem to remember a certain white Jupiter having lurid moments during a National Rally - you guessed it - no oil in the rear axle!!

Bit of a habit?

Regards,

Mike Allfrey.

It's not just us then!

There has been an unused, rebuilt, 'half-race' Cologne engine for a Capri sitting in our lounge and now the didning room, for the last two years!

My son had it built for his first Capri then bought a rare 'left-hander' and is having the original engine rebuilt.

Still, it looks quite nice at Christmas with a bit of tinsel on it (Honest!).
