Have recently put new Michelin X Radials on my Jupiter fitted and balanced by Longstone, and they are excellent. They are a radial tubed tyre though so even if you have tubeless rims (as on batch of wider wheels made for Jupiter some years back) you will need innertubes fitted, but Longstone are knowledgeable and will advise.
I also have Avon Turbosteel Radials fitted to my Javelin as they are slightly narrower and look good/in proportion. The steering and handling were totally transformed with these tyres and it feels precise and safe - with none of that crossply wander on the cats eyes! I bought these from Vintage Tyres at Beaulieu a couple of years back but was disappointed at that time only that they did not have the larger cones for the balancer to balance the Javelin wheels.....
Both these tyres are expensive (~£180.00), but then so relatively are (Avon) Crossplies for the short life and poor handling they give. Try negotiating for deals if buying multiples and ask for a club discount - it helped get a good deal from both these suppliers for 4 off.

I bough Michelin X taxi tyres, 175x16. Great tyres and a stronger ply. Fitted to my Jupiter instead of Pirelli Cinterato's
