This is FANTASTIC! It can only bring Jowetts into the limelight from out of the shadows (quite poetic, that!)
Well done to all those who have been instrumental in this project. You have done (and are doing) the Club a great service!

Thank you

Paul

Update on the LCC Javelin - the team have been busy, and after getting back from the NEC work has begun stripping the car down and cleaning up.

The rear axle being cleaned up.

An engine cradle being fabricated.

Work begins underneath the car.

More images here: http://s1293.beta.photobucket.com/user/ ... t/library/ - note some of the fabrication work, looks like the guys have been really busy in such a short period.

We are working on a piece for the Jowetteer over the next few months to share the great progress.

Jack.

A few more photos uploaded from LCC:

Familiar repairs to the front inner wing! Javelin owners take note - seems to be a common area for corrosion to set in.

A couple more pics of progress, as a new term is starting the project continues.

The almost inevitable rust on the front inner wing (if only they had known when designing the car that everyone restoring a Javelin 60 years later would come up against this, though perhaps they designed the sections to be flat and therefore easier to repair!):

Chopping out the rust, and some neat repair panels:

Off with her heads!

A nice pic of the NS Brakes taken apart and documented - a future in the Practical Classics Engine Autopsy department for the team perhaps?

Your interest in the forum: At your request, Keith. LCC student working on the project Javelin. I'm a Landcrab man really and run www.landcrabs.proboards.com. I'm also the Technical Director of the Wolseley Owners Club Ltd and admin on www.wolseleyforum.com.

I'd be happier if you allow the P45 monicker - I'm a self-employed appliance repairer and really don't want customers Googling my name and asking for assistance on any social forum I'm involved in.

Cheers,
Chris.

The 2014/15 Restoration course at Leeds City College finished yesterday and with it my involvement in the Javelin project. The last photos have been added to the Photobucket collection - HERE. The Club is more than welcome to make use of the images if you wish.

Mikey Coman will be starting a new team on the Javelin from next academic year in the brand new LCC motor facility. They'll be going from the "C" posts back and sorting the doors. There will hopefully be a new slew of pictures for you to share.

I'd like to express my thanks to Keith, Chris and Spencer for supplying advice, help and technical support over the last few months.

As for me? Back to my beloved Landcrabs. :D

Best regards,

Chris Chantrell,
Penguin45.
