DKY2A Distributors

Post by Srenner »

Hello all:

Just took a call from a fellow who re-shafts carbs, as he saw I sent in 30VM carbs marked Jowett for new shafts. He thinks he has a couple of Bradford units he would like to move and I haven't a clue.

Both are marked DKY2A.
1) 40121E AJ30 1148 Complete, though the cap has a small chunk off the seating rim. He thinks this unit may be NOS.
2) 409607A **** **46 No cap, might have been rebuilt 20-odd years ago. He will clean it up to check.

Are either proper Jowett equipment? What would be a reasonable offer and who wants them? They are in New York, but I could arrange posting them.

Cheers,
Scott

Hey Keith:

Nice download. I put that one away for future reference.

Looks like it should be 40607A, 39-40 Jowett 8 and van; 1946 Bradford. This would fit with the 46 on the body. If this is the unit, it is described as a DM2P4, not a DKY2A. I will talk with him on Tues or Weds and check the numbers he gave me. One more clue is that the two dizzies he has show opposite rotations. Possible?

The rotations in that chart are not to be believed in my opinion.
