Not that it really matters, but I am puzzled as to why I have been 'demoted' in the members list.

I was one of the early registrees but I am now 118.

Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me!

Membership list is now in reverse chronological order, so you see the latest members first. Sorry if you feel demoted

Ian the membership lost can be re ordered with the drop down box
the number alloacated related back to a data base number, so when a page comes up it knows where to call a particular members name.

Some times an asminisrator has to edit posts, users etc from in the data base rather than in the phpbb administration CP

Also related to this is (depending how join and post permissions are set up in the forums CP) spam Bots mess up the forums. From the Admin puont of veiw, having new members listed 1st as default makes editing far easiers and faster...

A point of note...Admin of a dynamic web site (where members add daily) involves daily checking /maintance and this is a on going responsabily year after year. Something that joe public really has no idea of the committment, and generaly highly underestimates.
Averaging over a month, a good admin on a reasonably busy site would spend 15 to 30mins per day...
Any small changes that a Admin may make to lighten the volunyary work load can make a big difference.
My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'

Wow! I didn't think I would cause that much response!

Like I said at the start, no problem - just curious.

The most important thing is to get as many members 'signed up' as possible.

PS. Nice sunny day today down here, cold though - ideal for a spot of Jowett 'repairs'.

Guess what? Central heating pump has packed up!

Hey Ho.

G'dday From The Sunny Far South,

Sunny day?

We've had three months of 'em darn 'ere! But morning drizzle is forecast for tomorrow's British Motoring Show. Will have to keep the Jupiter above 80 kph to keep dry!

I have no idea what my Aussie membership number is, but then, I don't loose too much sleep over it.

Regards,

Mike Allfrey.
