Hi,
I've been using the second arm, the spoon type, for several years with a splined adaptor. Mine are not adjustable in length. I use a pair of modern type blades that I found at an atojumble which matched the length of the Javelin ones. These are chrome rather than the modern black. It all works perfectly well. I have a pair of the ' torpedo' wing mirrors, unused. I think they are satin finish aluminium rather than chrome. I think I gave £20 for the pair. If anyone wants them for thje same price plus postage, they're available. They are boxed. I can find out the make tomorrow.

Ted
