The SA Jupiter petrol tank is 11 Gallons, the SC 8 Gallons and as I recall the Javelin 8 Gallons. I have been asked to get the hose that joins the tank to the filler cap and "the Grommet" which I take to be an O ring. Just spoken to the JCC and they are not sure but have Javelin pipe at 2.5 inch (proper measurements) I/D. Does anybody know if the SA (my car) and the Javelin Hose are the same, if not what I/D pipe and O ring size do I need and where do I get it. You could be forgiven for accusing me of being too lazy to go and measure it. You may be right but I'm in Buxton Derbyshire and the car is in Darlington a 250 mile round trip.
Heres hoping somebody knows please

SA Jupiter fuel tank filler hose
I purchased a fuel tank filler hose for my SA jupiter recently from a generic hose supplier. The hose to suit my car was 2.5" ID x 6.0" long. The length of hose you require depends on the location of your fuel tank relative to the position of the rear body work's exterior aluminium panel on your car. The hose has to be a fuel resistant material of course!
There was a flat seal under my Enots Monza 2.5" Fuel Filler Cap on the inside against the body sheet metal that was 2 11/16" ID x 3 3/8" OD x 0.040" thick (although my original might have been compressed over time), and an o-ring seal on the outside against the body sheet metal that was 2 11/16 ID x 0.040" dia in x-section.
In summary, I can't help you with the part you call a grommet, but perhaps someone else out there can.
Kind regards,

Jowett and Gromitt
Thanks Andrew, it looks as though the pipe supplied by the JCC will do as it must be petrol resistant for the Javelin. So will try to get more detail re the gromitt from my man with the car up t'North.
Thanks again

G'dday,
The Javelin does not have a hose at the petrol filler. Wish it did, as mine has broken away at the tank joint. Javelin has a grommet in mudguard, Jupiter is as Andrew describes.
Make sure that the filler cap is screwed on to the fitting with the correct orientation for the hinge. On my car the latch was at the bottom so that at least the cap partially closes with gravity. Keeps the rain out.
Regards,
Mike A.

Grommet thats not a grommet
Thanks folks, I have since been told the grommet I was asking about does not exist. Hmmmm! But the compression washer that Andrew speaks of, is that standard as local folks here tell me the metal screws down onto the bodywork work. I shudder at the thought. Any advice on this 40thou thick beasty please. Thanks in anticipation.
