Recent rummagings on eBay and the Internet have caused me to doubt whether the carburettor on my 1930 Long Four is in fact quite correct.
It has a bronze body but a zink.mazak cast top cover which is admittedly a tiny bit 'tight' but goes on and works fine.
But I noticed today (Saturday) that there is a Zenith carb on eBay (different model and fittings but generally similar) which has a bronze cover.
Also, on the Austinrepro website they list spare covers in bronze for the HZ30 carbs (they were also fitted to Austin 12s, Oh and Rover 10s apparently).
My mazak cover has a slight chip missing - no problem - but if it not the correct material I would like to change it.
Any advice/offers?
