Hi everyone,
Firstly, can I wish you all a very Happy New Year from Juliet and myself.
The second point is to mention that our baby, Javelin DCB246, seems to have managed to get herself into print in the magazine mentioned in the post title.
The 'back-off' between a local Lancia Aprilla and our Javelin took place back in September, on a thankfully sunny day. Having read the article, I was pleased that most of my comments on the draft text have been incorporated, albeit with a few significant exceptions. I was disappointed that my recognition of the International efforts behind the development of the aluminium rear timing case gasket have not been incorporated, although the article does recognise the sterling work put into the development of the aluminium gaskets and the associated 'O' ring solution by John Airey.
I was surprised that we had absolutely no control over what illustrations were used or whether our suggestions for the actual text would be incorporated.
I hope you find the general tone of the article is supportive of the marque and especially the great fellowship found within the club.
I was glad that, in the fairly uncritical marking made by the author, the Javelin came out in first place, which is as it should be!
All the best,
David and Juliet

Congratulations David and Juliet. More good publicity for the cars and the club.
I have found the only way to get any kind of editorial control over articles is to write them ourselves and present them to editors as the finished article - though even doing this can result in editing to fit in space available or to remove paragraphs they think will not appeal to readers etc. For obvious reasons this is difficult to do when it comes to head to head tests such as this, though if we can keep reinforcing for magazines the benefit of the club and the cars hopefully we will attract new members and raise awareness generally.
It is always worth us scanning a copy of articles such as this into the Gallery so that we have a digital record for the future.
Kind Regards,
Jack.

Well done David and Juliet. What a fantastic start to the new year! There's certainly been a great deal of good publicity for Jowett recently.
Happy New Year everybody.

I vitited my local "magazine library" by which I mean petrol station, with a few minutes to spare had a look. A good article, with nice photos and some very complimentary comments about the cars.
Good stuff. I did wonder as I looked at the cover when all the magazines in the petrol station somehow secretly got over the £4 mark without me noticing.
Jack.
