When I bought 'Mary Ellen' (1934 Short saloon) in 1962 she had a radiator cap as shown in photo 1.
I've just had a look at an original 1934 sales brochure, and the front page shows a different radiator cap which is similar to the petrol cap. (Photo 2).
Very interesting! Anyone like to comment?

I'm sure this must just be the artist's oversight - of course, the previous years models did have the screw-on flat variety so it is possible that the illustrator assumed the same rad cap would continue!

99% sure that 1934 models had the flat(ish) rad cap with knurled edge. the Kestrels were fitted with a thermometer but I don't know if lesser models had this as standard. The 1935 models also used this cap.Tthe winged cap as fitted to mary ellen when Tony bought it is off a 1936 model.
