Liner Seals

Post by PJGD »

I am rebuilding an engine that has the late liner seals. By this I mean the crankcase and liners that sit metal-to-metal but with a neoprene o-ring in the chamfer. I am looking for a source for the o-ring. Any suggestions where to look?

By my calculations, they should be: Ø1.25 mm section by Ø78 mm internal diameter to get the correct stretch and crush. This size is non-standard and is not readily available locally from the usual o-ring stockists.

Suggestions welcome!
Thank you

Rob;
I suspect that we are talking at cross purposes. The late liner seal is metal-to-metal between liner and crankcase with no copper seal, but it does use an o-ring. I had in fact already sent an e-mail to Bill, but thought I would also try a wider circulation in seeking a source.

Philip.
