Nigel has sent 55 pictures which I have uploaded to his JowettGallery album here.
I particularly like these.

A marvellous record of the commendations Peter received for his taxi service. See if you can recognise some of the signatures.

Hi Keith

Thought I would drop you a line to thank you for giving us the opportunity to represent the Jowett Car Club at the Revival ,both Dad and myself have had a brilliant time ,we were amazed at all the compliments and happy faces from people riding in all the cars and even Sir Stirling Moss remarked to Dad on all of the Javelins driving around the roads and estate , everyone seemed delighted with the service the Jowetts were giving once again thank you ,oh and we have rebooked our accommodation for next year.

best wishes

Nigel & Alan

Likewise Keith, a big thank you from me as well, I thoroughly enjoyed it (despite my miniscule tent) and hope to have the chance to do the same next year. Resigned to thinking that the well known personalities escaped me, I found out from trawling pics of the weekend on the internet that in fact I gave a lift from the Hotel to the circuit to none other than Jochen Maas - he was very unassuming and was quite interested in the mechanicals of the Weasel: quite a departure from the Mercedes racers he is used to. If only I got a photo. I noticed he came second in the Fordswater race in a Gullwing 300SL.

Yes Ken, recognising who you pick up is difficult. I try to trawl through the likely suspects before the event, but most have aged from when I remember them. Perhaps next year I will make a compendium of possible guests so that we at least have a chance. Peter's visitors' book is one way to get some retrospective intelligence, so we all do that next year. Also you may transport the partners, who are often more interesting. Perhaps a back facing camera on the dash to take a quick snap for later identification! Some tell you their name and can be put out when you do not know who they are!

The question is not whether we know who they are. The question is whether they know who we are!

They can hardly take exception to not being recognised when they can't identify the type of car they have just got into!!!

I found everybody was quite pleased to have a nice chat about the car and about bits and bobs without the usual questions that I'm sure celebrities of their field must get asked all the time - how often must one of my guests Christian Horner get asked about F1, who is going to win this or that, indeed he seemed much more interested in our chat about the delights (or otherwise) of Hemel Hempstead and Watford but happy to chat about the cars he was racing that day.

The visitors book is a good idea though - without it we wouldn't have been able to record such great feedback about the cars and the drivers, as well as having a loose record of who has been transported in the car.

Jack.
