A Russian "Javelin "

Post by robert lintott »

In the October 2013 Classic and Sports Car is an interesting article on the GAZ M 20 Pobeda. Designed during WW2 with body work by Benjamin Samoiloff (!) . Although only a four light body there are strong resemblances to the Javelin , possibly arising from contacts between Russia and Detroit in the 1930s ?. The M20 had a Chrysler engine , Opel front suspension , and a Ford derived platfom and transmission . It is page 140 for bookstall readers ! Bob

Plenty of stuff on YouTube. Early models had a grille similar to the Javelin.
