Our next event(s) take place on the weekends of the 3rd/4th August when we
visit Ballater in Speyside, and on the 10th and 11th with the Ferry Fair and Biggar at
which we will be promoting 90 years of the Jowett Car Club.
Technical Front - Emergency work on a few Jupiter gear change columns
have been hurriedly fitted in following mishaps. This problem is not going to go away
and breakages may increase as time goes on. I intend to do an article on my experiences
regarding this issue, and currently I am working on a redesign of the problem area at the
lower end of the column. I feel that this is the only long-term solution.
Section Diary
10th August 2013 - Ferry Fair Parade. Meet at 10 am in Burgess Road, South
Queensferry. Please contact Drummond on 0131 333 3561 for entry information.
11th August 2013 - Biggar Rally. We have organised a Section Stand to promote the
90th year of the Jowett Car Club. Space has been booked. Full details from Dave
Thomson on 01875 821271.
15th September 2013 - Selkirk Rally - Similar to above: we have booked stand and
car space to promote 90 years of the Club. This is going to be a very busy event after
last year's cancellation. All details via Drummond.
6th October 2013 - Section Outing - Committee is working on this: details next month.
17th November 2013 - Scottish Section Annual General Meeting at New Lanark.
Extra Technical Meetings - Dates are being arranged for a few meeting to finalise
engine testing and exchanges between a few cars over the next few months. Once
complete this will be included and also sent out using e-mail.
