Some reminders to start –
1) - Saturday, 10th August: Ex-employees Reunion at the Bradford Industrial Museum
(see page 7).
2) - 90th Anniversary Road Run to Boroughbridge - Sunday 11 August: details have
already appeared in previous issues so this is your final reminder to contact Michael
Koch-Osborne a.s.a.p. to register your attendance (again, see page 7). Michael will
provide you with full details re timings, etc. when you contact him. He will also require
payment for the afternoon tea at the hotel in Boroughbridge, so please have your cheque
book to hand.
3) - On Saturday 24 August we have a gathering at Damart in Bingley - 12noon to 4pm
(Bowling Green Mills, Lime Street, Bingley). This is being organised by Rhonda Myers
and is in aid of a local Prostrate Cancer Charity. Admission will be £3 per car (payable
on arrival). The Damart factory shop will be open so you will be able to stock up on
your thermals for next year! Please do your best to attend as this is a very worthy cause.
4) - On Monday 26 August (Bank Holiday) we have our annual Treasurer’s Run - full
details will be in the August magazine but please be sure to keep the day free. Michael
always manages to find some good roads for us, to test both cars and drivers.
Many congratulations go to all the Northern Section winners at the National
Rally in Basingstoke - the Michaels (Kavanagh, Koch-Osborne & Whitehead) plus the
Johns (Atack and Follows) were all worthy award winners (or rather their cars were),
plus Keith Wear won the first prize in the Raffle, and Robert Gray won the Teddy Bear.
Well done, everyone (if I have missed anyone out I’m sorry – no doubt I will be told!).
On Sunday 09 June we were at Locke Park, Barnsley, where the sun shone, and
we had two winners to complete a good day. Robert Dyson won 2nd in class with his
Flying Fox, and Paul Beaumont won 2nd in class (commercial) with his Bradford. Well
done guys.
We have a lot of events to attend between now and the end of September so if
the current trend continues the ladies of the section had better ensure they have plenty
of silver polish in the cupboard! See you on the 1st Tuesday every month – Hare &
Hounds, Lightcliffe.
