Chassis wanted

Post by James Baxter »

I'm looking for an early chassis. Long or short, condition unimportant. There's NOTHING that can't be repaired!!
Other early parts could be useful too but I especially need a chassis

Many thanks indeed,

James

Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section. Should it be under cars & parts?

Worth ringing JCS this evening, and speaking to Ian Priestley. If anyone can find such a thing, he's your man.

There was a chassis on ebay a few months ago, which I think was from a fairly early car, but I can't remember details - a search through this section of the forum should turn up more info, but I think the item sold.

Jack.

Having seen some restoration work in Estonia and Latvia I agree that anything can be restored. It just needs a lot of skill. Good luck James on finding the parts. You could just make a chassis from drawings

If you want to have a look at what we are doing come along to Kings Langley one day.

Hello James. I read your ad in the VSCC newsletter this month, did you sell the running car? If so i hope the new owner will join the JCC or they might be an existing member.I bought a chassis off ebay in the summer but it is 1932 so would have been too late for your needs. Are you now restoring the other short two in your ad? It would be good to see more Jowetts in VSCC events. Nice to see pictures of John Box's 7/17 coupe on the Lancashire tour and Stuart Baxter's 7 at Madresfield in theVSCC Bulletin this December. I hope you have success in finding a chassis. Regards Nigel Morley.

Hi Nigel,
I didn't sell the car in bits, but did sell the completed car, only to replace it with another, the Peter Lilley car KP196, which is a nice tatty old slipper.
Now I really can't decide which to sell, so am going to finish my early car then take stock.
I plan to do the Derbyshire trial in KP in early March.
It was a lovely picture of dad at Madresfield.
I agree there should be more cars out in the VSCC, and plan on doing my bit at least.

Help please, how different is a 1932 chassis?
