On page 28 & 29 of Practical Classics - January 2013 is a sizable peice on the ' Club of the Month' - MG Car Club along with the title 'Now that's long service' and a bold headline of
'UNIQUE GATHERING BY BRITAINS OLDEST ONE-MAKE CAR CLUB' - I already have e mailed the MG Car Club and Practical Clasics in order to set the record straight.

Chris, must be an error by the Magazine , I cannot imagine the MGCC, founded in late 1930, would make such a claim. Lets hope not anyway good to draw it to their attention, they should issue a correction could be good publicity for us?
We have a strong link with MG via Gerald Palmer who designed the Javelin and went on to MG to design the Magnette saloon, first sold in 1954. As a young Process Engineer at Esso, Fawley refinery I shared lodgings with a colleague who had a new Magnette ZA, alongside the Javelin I had at the time, we shared the commute to work from Southampton so I was able to compare the two. Both excellent sports saloons in their day.
George Garside in another thread compares the Javelin with others. Suspension and handling were the main driving attributes , but the Javelin's ageing design was overtaken by the likes of the Magnette, Fiat 1100 TV, Sunbeam Rapier and later Cortina /Corsair GT, Triumph 2000, Mini Cooper(and the advent of radial tyres for all) which I owned in the 1960s.
