Alan - Our congratulations - Just goes to show - limited budget but a passion to retain the family car and willing to do what it takes to acheive the end goal.

So lets just put this in some form of prospective for the club then - a small car club with 500 + members - and supports all models produced from the single producer - just happens in the face of very heavy compertition, proffessional restorations and cars that are far more appealing to the general public - they tend to be worth a lot more money too - none the less in the last 3 years - 2 Jowett models / club members have lifted the coverted crown of 'classic car car of the year' - would this be the club that also celebrates the title of the worlds oldest established car club - whilst also forging pioneering relationships with a college restoration of a Javelin ?

The Jowett Car Club and it's members can be justifably proud of these and many other acheivements made and this is just the tip of the iceburg

We've just got back, and have spent a good 3 hours cleaning and sorting the car.

The various people working on the stand were very helpful, and complimentary, and Alan's car is now where it deserves to be in the middle of the stand on the chequered flag.

To beat cars from huge car clubs and worth hundreds of thousands of pounds is a big deal for any car, but working on the car you can see that all the work has been done at home by an enthusiastic owner who is committed to enjoying his car whenever possible.

Great to see recognition for one of our youngest owners, in a prewar car as well. Interesting that three of the finalists are 1930s cars, last year from memory there were a lot of 70s and 80s cars, in 2010 it was a mix by the design of the competition of one car from each decade. Despite this, the organisers are really happy to see great background stories behind the cars, and the cars on the stand are a reflection of that.

Onwards and upwards for the JCC! Now off to bed because it will be a long day tomorrow, we walked back through the show this evening and it takes about 15 minutes to walk directly through it ignoring everything along the way. If you stopped at every 10th stand it would take all day just to walk one aisle, and there are 3-4 aisles in every room. Biggest NEC show ever I think, and Alan's car is the centrepiece!

It is such a triumph for Alan and the club that it needs to be appreciated. He was just walking on air when we saw him.
