Club Banners for Display

Post by Jack »

Morning all,

I have memories of seeing various club banners at different events in recent years, can anyone advise if they know where these are kept, and who is responsible for them?

We have a few events in the pipeline and would like to display a JCC Banner, or really any other Jowett banner that might be appropriate for the car/event.

Collecting them shouldn't be a problem with everyone driving all over the country over the next few months, but we want to avoid the cost of getting these things made if we already have them!

Thanks,

Jack.

Have you tried contacting section Secretaries? They usually have a good idea who has what where & possible loan thereof. Will depend on their own events of course & whether yours are in/out door ones.

We have - it seems that most sections have their own banners, but there are not many banners that are just JCC or Jowett.

I think we have found a couple of banners, though not quite what we were after they will compliment what we may need to get manufactured.

After this was raised at the Exec, I have now received a list of what banners, marquees and similar items are owned by each section from Mary.

If anyone needs a copy of the list let me know, I'll try and write it up when I get a moment.

Hi Jack,

Yes please, could you send Juliet and I a copy of the list when it is ready. We do have equipment owned by the section, but I don't recall ever being asked to send anyone a list of this. We do have two banners, which just say 'Jowett'.

Many thanks,

David

Hi David,

I will write up the list of banners and display materials as sent to me in the coming weeks - unfortunately I think it is filed underneath rather a lot of furniture while we are decorating!

Interesting that nobody has asked for a list of assets owned by the sections - I understood that to be something that the Secretary should have in the Memorandum of Articles. It is certainly something that the club should be aware of, otherwise how would we know whether we are reinventing the wheel or spending money unnecessarily.
