At the JCC exec yesterday it was agreed that we needed to let the world know we are the father/mother of car clubs being 90 years' old next year. One idea was to badger Goodwood into having a display, parade or whatever. Now if we could get one or more of those cars along plus a Jowett from each decade of production plus lots of other Jowetts we might make a splash.

So Andy, can you try tracing those cars and seeing if we can get them along? If we get some sort of committment before Christmas we can put the idea to Goodwood....and Silverstone and any other event next year!

I will speak with Ed N to find out which cars survive.
By chance I have just bought Noel Stokoes book ' Sporting Jowetts' and I see that his car ran at Goodwood, so there is one to start with! NPO133 is owned by Pat Lockyer - a good running car. The Grounds Jupiter is still under restoration as is HKW 429 apparently. GKY256 is sitting under a tarpaulin in my back garden..........if only!
More surviving cars seem to have raced at Silverstone.....

I just had a look on ebay and Lo (and behold!), there was a Goodwood programme from 1952. I emailed the vendor and they kindly looked but reported there was no mention of a Jowett in the programme.

Better luck next time eh?

Andy,
We will also be targetting Silverstone with our 90 years celebration display. So if you can research cars to attend there as well....
Pat Lockyer attended Festival of Speed a couple of years ago and should be one you can start to work on, for Goodwood. Peter Dixon, Richard Gaine and Julian Crossley should also be in the frame for some track time. Then perhaps we look at some of the Inter Register Jowetts through Richard Keil.
