Has anyone experience of getting road wheels crack tested?
Given that my wheels are nearly 60 years old, think it might be a good idea before I spend money on paint and tyres.
Who does this sort of thing?

I suggest that you look in the Yellow Pages for a firm that offers "Non destructive Testing". People who do welding inspection and testing should also be able to do crack testing.

Re: Crack testing road wheels
Since you have them paint free I would weld them up around where they will crack if they have not already. Then have them heat relieved and if you want to crack tested.
I think I would put money on them having cracks so weld them first.
