London - Brighton Run, 6th November 2011

Post by ian Howell »

It was fine and fairly sunny, but not especially warm, at the Black Lion in Patcham just north of Brighton where a few members of the club met as usual. I had planned also to go to the alternative meeting point at Staplefield but in the end I, and my son James (but still NOT with my Long Four), went straight to Patcham.

Personally I had hoped to see Roger Learmonth's 1904 Autocar competing for the seventh time, but speaking to him later it seems I missed him. He tells me he did however finish the Run despite major delays due to disturbances to the planned route caused by an 'incident' at Streatham.

Among the throng were Ed Nankivell with his wife Gislain and his unique Jupiter and Roy Hickman without his Jupiter.

Did anyone else enjoy the day?
The devil is in the detail!
