This is a very sound Jav requiring restoration, it is all there and very original - for auction on e bay by club member Tim Neville - I am really surprised that this has not sold before today and if I had the space / time I would have have purchased it earlier this year when Tim offered it for sale - but the house move has to come first !! Not sold - unfortunately not reaching the reserve price but was bid to £870.00 - unsure if Tim is going to re list it.

Re: 1950 Javelin project - E Bay
Sold to a very keen chap who has an Abbot bodied car with a cracked block and a son (this is a young person!) who wants a project! He is absolutely delighted to have found such a good Jav and relatively locally for him too. So I imagine you may well be hearing from them in due course.
How much? Well, he is very pleased and so am I! A lot more than it was last shown at on e-bay!
My interest in Jowetts remains, and although due to reasons of circumstances and other things RNO 850 had to go, I may well appear on these pages from time to time; probably to have a 'dig' or gripe (constructive of course) about something! Talking of which, I'm pleased to see continued pressure, mostly from the usual sources, for development of computer use in all its forms for the club. The club must move forward to attract and involve new younger people, even if it means dragging the 'old guard' behind screaming. They've had many years their way, the club must progress or die.

Tim, great news. I am sure the buyers will be in touch with the local section, if you want to put them in touch with some younger members who will be happy to welcome them in to the club (but may not be quite so local) please feel free to pass on details for me and/or Amy or other young members keen to attract and retain others.Tim Neville wrote:Sold to a very keen chap who has an Abbot bodied car with a cracked block and a son (this is a young person!) who wants a project! Tim - Great news that you found an enthusiastic purchaser - and just as good news is that you still intend to be about in the background with the club - the car sounded ideal but I just do not have the space until we move out of London - (Mrs Spencer had better watch out once we move) - should the new owners require any advice in the restoration they are quite welcome to ask all the questions they can think of (We -'Clements & Co' are in the middle of a Jav rebuild for Jack) plus Keith has owned a Jav for the last 20 years or so.
