I have obtained Furflex from Edgeware Motors and very nice it looks too! Next question for those Javelin owners who have replaced their Furflex is how do you remove the original please and what method of fixing would you recommend instead of tacking it? Adhesive?
Thanks
Paul (Wilks)

Re: Furflex
Paul - Remove all covering trims that abut the furflex - i.e. B post trim / windscreen trim etc - the furflex is held in place by upholstery tacks which you need to carefully remove - these are nailed into a flexible paper wound keep that is further retained by metal tabs on the bodyshell of the the car - You will also find that the headlining is retained in the same way but with the furflex tacked over the top of it - There is also a tacked on trim that hides the nail heads of the furflex - depending upon it's condition you may have to also replace this - I think Woolies carry something similar -

Re: Furflex
Hi Paul, Chris has just about covered the subject, I would just add that removal & refitting the final trim (Hidem Banding) requires a lot of
care. The age of this material can cause the wire innards to collapse when disturbed, it is possible to rebuild this item if you can save the
inner packing or you can use a substitute trim, off the roll.
I have found that the use of tacks the best method of fitting the furflex & trim as any mistakes are then easily rectified.
Hope this helps & goodluck
