Give some feedback.

Post by Forumadmin »

There has been a flurry of postings since receiving the July Jowetteer that I hope will stimulate you to respond to the Editor or via JowettTalk.

I really do not intend to do this every month; but I wanted to show how spontaneous receiving the information in the Jowetteer could be, rather than missing the moment whilst it churns for two or three months in the publication process. Print is good for some communication; but for dialogue it has long response times. Yesterday's news is only good for those who have been 'away' or 'on a sabbatical'.

How many times have you wanted to respond; but not made the effort to put pen to paper? But is it less effort to put finger on keyboard and press send?

This is an interesting post. My July Jowetteer hasn't yet flown through the letter box. They (the Jowetteer mags.) usually come within a day or two of the 1st of the month. Have we a two-tier delivery service? Kirkstall is nearer to me than the area 'South of Watford'! Should I become a member of the Executive again?

Tony, if it makes you feel any better we haven't had ours through yet, and we live about 2 minutes from Clements Snr.

It's probably our very lazy postman, who has decided to stop ringing the bell with recorded deliveries and seems to leave our post for a few days longer than everyone else in the country.

I guess this does highlight the advantage of an online Jowetteer - everyone can see it at the same time. Imagine the disappointment of receiving a copy on a Monday morning with an advert for a car you were interested in buying, only to find that other members had got theirs on a Friday and been and bought it over the weekend? At least with online it is instant - I guess it wouldn't be fair to those members who choose not to have a computer though...

Aha that is where electronic communication scores and yet another debating point. Obviously it takes time to edit, compose, print, collate, stuff, post, transport, sort, deliver and open.

Read the last lines of this posting.

Mine arrived today. So it will be interesting to see the spread of delivery of the snail mail copy. Even so I am still enjoying flipping through the pages

I didn't take much notice at the time, but mine arrived at least a week ago (<1st July?) it would have been mailed by Air Mail . . . seems like there's a bit of a problem with your UK mail deliveries. It'd be interesting to know when the "mail-out" was actually done . . .
