I will be putting the new engine and gear box in within the next few weeks.
I have been told to do it thru the top.
Remove radiator, bonent etc
When I did the Camaro a few yrs back, everyone said remove bonnet/radiator etc....instead I removed the front chassis bolts, jacked the body up and rolled everything out as if on a wheel burrow from underneath, and replaced the same way.
Althu the Braddy has a full chassis, can it be done in a similar manner?
With the Van on a hiost, and using a hydrolic Trans remover.
Suuport engine/gearbox with the trans remover undernearth.
Remove the heads and head studs
loosen off the strut bolts (that the engine and trans mounts are on) from the chassis.
Spread the chassis a mm with a hydrolic jack
Then drop the engine /gear box out from underneath, lowerring on the hydrolic trans remover.
Do the opposte to put the new engine/gearbox in.
hook up dizzy wires, water hoses, fuel/oil gauge lines etc
Just thinking outside the circle.
Engine/gearbox replacement.

can only be taken out underneath if engine separated from gearbox & preferably pots removed. NOt rally any point as after removing radiator, pulling steeting box up against scuttle the engine & box comes out easily at an angle. remove radiator cowl and engine can be lifted out by 2 people using a pole fastened accross the engine.
