Jupiters in the Automobile

I'm wondering if any forum members can help me make contact with George Mitchell of Sherriffmuir? There is a picture of the sad remains of 2 cars, featured in the Automobile this month. I'd be interested in rescuing them, I have a project with a 1950's Mistral body, and the Jupiter chassis would probably be ideal. Any leads greatfully received.

Thanks in advance

Hi Tim....That sounds an interesting project - the Mistral is a very pretty body -didn't the Frazer Nash works use one on a Le Mans rep chassis?

I can't help with contact details for George -my father bought a dismantled Jupiter from him in the late 70's -about the time he was selling up his stock to Jowett Car Spares. You can see more pictures of these two cars in the Javelin thread of this forum:

I do hope the cars can be saved...or at least any usable parts recovered.

I am advised by Drummond Black that the remnants of the Jupiters in question are completely scrap with the chassis rusted through - no usable components left on the chassis or body panels - the body panels have been rammed / walked on by livestock so many times that they are distorted beyond any useful purpose - by all means make contact with Drummond if you require any further information - but I find it hard to believe that if they were of any use that they would have been recovered / removed long before now
