Tony,
I bought one but have not had chance to test it. I think I will have to adjust the charging voltage as I suspect it will be some way away from 13.8.

I would make sure you carry a spare....or simply use a Dynamator. Although this is new manufacture it is probably not made to exacting standards, not that Lucas boxes were much good in the first place.

However if you do like old technology this is close to the original.

But if you are thinking of converting.....

Don't worry too much about missing this regulator! It wasn't the one fitted to Javelins, which was an RF95 with at least seven screw terminals. Yes, you could probably fit it, if you are prepared to do some rewiring, as it contains the basic 'electrics', but it's not the right one. Reconditioned ones are available, but you will need deep pockets! David

The Regulator on ebay RB106 the 5 post fitting was indeed used on Javelins & the 2 fuses were fitted in a small
separate unit. The RF 95 unit incorporated the two 35a fuses within the unit itself. The eBay unit RF106 is a good price
but as mentioned the reliability may be an issue, although the original Lucas units are still working, most of the time,
after how many years! Alf.

Hi Alf,
Yes, these regulators are a very good price, as the last time I purchased a RF95 they were about four times the cost of these!
However, personally I have never seen a Javelin with one of these fitted from the factory, but perhaps they were an alternative? I guess you would need to do a bit of additional wiring to incorporate the fuses as you say, with a separate fuse box? Well worth the effort at this price!
I guess the Javelin wiring diagram, showing the RF95, explains where the fuses would be needed?
All the best,
David

Hi David, the Javelin Instruction Book (May 1952) shows the regulator 5 posts with separate fuses in the
electrical diagram. It would be an easy job to fit the RB106 regulator to a Javelin, the fuses being located
in a separate 'fuse box'. The later Jupiters also had this regulator fitted with details in the Motor Trader
Aug 1953. Hope this helps a little in the use of Lucas regulator types in Jowetts.
Regards. Alf.

Thanks Alf. As I said, I haven't seen one of these regulators fitted to a Javelin, but clearly they were a later addition. Perhaps the 'bean counters' got involved?
Best regards,
David
