White metalling

White metalling - older engines
Again an experience from my prep work for the Restoration show:
Most Jowett Twins, (CC Bradford excepted) Have white metalled big end bearings. Most suppliers to this market quote lead times of months. I firmly recommend Formhalls for this service. They are probably not the cheapest - and if your crank has riveted on balance weights you will save £ by removing them first- They took my crank, ground the mains and big end journals, and recast the rods and finished them ready to fit in just 2 weeks. Charles is very knowledgeable and helpful. Again highly recommended!

U/J for Jup etc . Worth getting new ones. They wear out quite quickly. Powertune RJUJ101 MGB/Midget/Mini

Simply Bearings can import from Chicago Rawhide the desired replacement for Payen NA325. Delivery time is about a month.

Don't forget I can source things here in the US. I have a commercial account with a couple of bearing houses, so axle parts are usually easy to get and not too expensive. Also true on Moss Motor stuff. Cheers
