Wiring loom on a 1955 Jowett Jupiter PROBLEM!

Hi there I am currently restoring a Jowett Jupiter and she has a horrible old home made loom which had been modified and wasn't working, I have obtained a new wiring loom however there was no instructions or any diagrams to help install it, so my problem lies with the fact I'm unable to indentify some of the cables final positions also his the wiring loom should be correctly run through the car. Is anyone able to help with this matter please. I haven't been able to find any diagrams online and apron broadening my search to other vintage 1955car looms in the hope that I may find one similar I have been unsuccessful. Are you sure it is a 1955, they finished production in 1954 .
Have a look for Wiring diagram in Gallery . Do search for 'wiring' on Jowett.org, JowettTalk and JowettGallery. Many pictures in Gallery under SC rebuild.

Please post some pictures of your car.

Apologies its 1953, I have been supplied a wiring loom through the client from the Jowett car club, this loom I believe has a few differences from the original as it has 6indicator/trafficater connections, also suggests the petrol pump is run parallel to the coil and distributor as apose to series which the original wiring diagram I found on here shows it to be wired. Not only this. I have numerous cables which don't correspond with the correct colours to be used and extra cores for unknown terminations. Plus more cables at the control box/rectifier than there is ports. Pictures to follow asap. Would you like the pictures in a different thread? Or am I in the right place :)

The petrol pump is never run in series with anything, ever! It is connected to the same place (the output of the ignition switch) as is the ignition coil, fuse block (A3) to stop lamp etc., starter push, ignition warning lamp and anything else that comes on with the ignition.

Colour codes are standard Lucas colour codes of the period. You may well have to do some investigation to see what is connected to each wire and to trace using a multimeter. Many cars may well have additional accessories from the original which are not catered for by the new loom.

The best way to wire up, if you are unsure, is to insulate all bare wires and add components in a logical sequence. Take particular care over the dynamo regulator box as the correct one may not be fitted. Also make sure you have the polarity you want on the battery. Many people have converted to negative to chassis(earth) as this aids with modern electronic components.
