Is it worth it?

I sometimes wonder whether all the effort I put into the website is useful, so I did some quick analysis.
Over the last week 35 different people have signed in excluding myself. Note that many more will have viewed without signing in.
Those 35 have posted 7121 times between them. I have posted 4283 times.
Hopefully, with the new system, more will want to use it.

Well; as a result of the changes I have to sign in every time I go to this site, even though I check the box for automatically accessing the site after logging in once.

Browser or operational issue?

Hi Robin,
Yes there was a change to JowettTalk so that it now uses secure cookies.
Your browser may well have remembered the old credentials and it is that that is not working. Try clearing your cookies. You can do this via your browser and there is also a link at the bottom of the JowettTalk page. :?:

I am planning the major upgrade tomorrow so the site will be down. My estimate is an hour, but that may be wishful thinking.
From tomorrow JT and JG and JIS will be integrated.

Effectively the forum will be on a different site, the more secure HTTPS version. This is the link that should be in your address bar.

Code: Select all

https://jowett.net/forum/index.php
Your browser needs to remember the credentials for this site rather than jowett.net.
Please can you login to JowettTalk via jowett.net home page 'Services' Login rather than the link on jowett.org or via an old 'favourites' link on your PC. It may take some time to flush out all these old links.

I would like to see if there are any more browser issues with the jowett.net homepage. So if you can post which browser you are using and which version and whether you have any issues or not, this will help track down whether it is a browser or coding or operational issue. :?:

Code: Select all

http://jowett.net/#templatemo_services
The above is the link to take you directly to the services area of the home page. From there click the login link.
The services it currently goes to will have a major makeover tomorrow.
If you go to JowettTalk this way and ask your browser to remember the new credentials. It should then remember them the same as before. You may have to clear your cookies though.

Links for login have been added to the top left corner of jowett.org and jowett.net
Please use these to login.
Later today the login page will perform the single sign-on.
