Has anyone tried these Speedi Sleeves.

Looks Like a good way to cure that leaking crankshaft or wheel hub oil seal.

Just ordered a replacement propshaft bearing SKF 5G88506 from SimplyBearings. Brilliant service. I ordered two sorts to test.

Yes, I have used them successfully for quite sometime, starting with my first Sprite racer. For the Jowett, the crank pulley often has a groove and I have repaired three pulleys with a sleeve.

The Speedi-Sleeve comes in two versions with one a harder material. The repair sleeve for the Jowett pulley is about US$50.

The only issue is removing the bottom lip. This is a flange which the installation tool pushes against to slide the sleeve over the shaft. It is pre-cut, sort of like a tin of sardines. The instructions suggest nipping the flange prior to installation so you can grab it with pliers and pull the flange off after positioning the sleeve. Sometimes it works well and other times not so well.

Cheers,
Scott
